The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation summoned the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Guyana to condemn and demand redress for armed attack on a GDF supply vessel navigating in Guyanese waters

The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation this morning urgently summoned His Excellency Carlos Perez, Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Guyana to condemn and demand redress for yesterday’s armed attack on a Guyana Defense Force (GDF) supply vessel navigating in Guyanese waters between Eteringbang and Makapa.

The Meeting was chaired by the Honourable Dr. Vince Henderson, Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy of Dominica. During the meeting, the Foreign Ministers engaged in discussions aimed towards advancing CARICOM foreign relations

Guyana and Qatar sign MOU for Political Consultations on Issues of Mutual Interest

The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary-General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Political Consultations on Issues of Mutual Interest between the Government of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana and the Government of the State of Qatar.

During the meeting, Minister Todd and the Ambassador reflected on her tenure and support to the Government and people of Guyana that enhanced the ties between the two countries which led to the further consolidation of the bilateral relations between Guyana and China.
