Statement delivered by Ms. Neishanta Benn, Minister Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Guyana to the United Nations, at Security Council Briefing on “Threats to International Peace and Security” (Ukraine)

Thank you, Madam President

I thank Mr. Ebo for his brief this morning and take note of the information provided by Mr. Szamuely.

Guyana shares the concern expressed by Mr. Ebo about the risk of diversion and proliferation of arms and ammunition transferred into this or any armed conflict.

Statement delivered by Mrs. Marissa Edwards, Minister Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Guyana to the United Nations during the Security Council Briefing on Non-proliferation/Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK)

Thank you, Madam President,

I thank Assistant Secretary-General Khaled Khiari for his briefing and welcome the participation of the Representative of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in this meeting.

Guyana condemns the ongoing violations of UN Security Council resolutions. We remain alarmed by the continued launches of ballistic missiles by the DPRK in violation of relevant Security Council resolutions, including the recent launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on 30th October.

Statement delivered by H.E. Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett, Permanent Representative of Guyana to the United Nations, at Security Council Briefing on 'Maintenance of Peace and Security of Ukraine'

Thank you, Madam President,

Guyana is gravely concerned about the dangerous trajectory of this conflict. Each day we hear more harrowing reports of the death and destruction brought upon innocent civilians who are bearing the brunt of this conflict. They did not ask for this war and they have little means of escaping it.
