Statement by H.E. Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett, Permanent Representative of Guyana to the UN, on behalf of the 10 Elected Members of the Security Council, at UN Security Council meeting on: The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question

Thank you, Madame President, for so swiftly facilitating the request to convene this meeting.

I have the honour to introduce this draft resolution on behalf of the ten elected Member States of the Security Council, namely Algeria, Ecuador, Japan, Malta, Mozambique, Republic of Korea, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, Switzerland and my own country, Guyana.

Thank you, Madam President,

I have the honour to deliver this statement on behalf of the A3+, namely Algeria, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, and my own country, Guyana.

We welcome the opportunity to discuss the Security Council’s support to Haiti and our collective response to the government’s request for assistance in tackling spiralling armed gang violence in the country.

I thank USG Di Carlo for the update and welcome the participation of His Excellency Sybiha Andrii, Minister of Foreign Minister of Ukraine, in today’s meeting.

President,

We meet today for yet another meeting on the conflict in Ukraine. This time we are reminded that it is 1000 days since the war began. Guyana deeply regrets that for every additional day of this war, innocent lives continue to be lost.

Statement delivered by H.E. Amar Bendjama, Permanent Representative of Algeria to the UN, on behalf of the A3+, at Security Council Briefing on the Situation in Sudan

Thank You Mr. President,
I have the honor to deliver this statement on behalf of the A3+, namely, Guyana, Mozambique, Sierra Leone and my own country, Algeria.

At the outset, we wish  to thank the United Kingdom for convening this important meeting and express appreciation to USG Rosemary DiCarlo and OCHA Director Mr. Rajasingham for their briefings. We listened carefully to Mrs. Niemat Ahmadi and thank her for her briefing, and we welcome the participation of the Permanent Representative of Sudan to this meeting.
