Guyana joins in extending our deepest condolences to the Government and people of Malawi during this period of national mourning.

I thank the President of the Mechanism, Judge Graciela Gatti Santana and Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz for their briefings.  I welcome the participation of the representatives of Serbia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia in today’s meeting.

Guyana thanks the United Kingdom for organizing today’s Arria Formula meeting and thanks Director Lucia Elmi for her insightful contribution to today’s discussion. We also take this opportunity to welcome the Secretary General’s appointment of Ms. Julie Bishop as his Special Envoy on Myanmar and offer our full support for her mandate.
