His Excellency President Dr Irfaan Ali held a meeting with the Prime Minister of South Korea, Han Duck-soo on the sidelines of the CARICOM Heads of Government meeting at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Port of Spain, Trinidad on Tuesday
Discussions centred on ways of enhancing cooperation between the nations.
Prime Minister Han congratulated President Ali on Guyana's election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, while indicating his Government's willingness to support Guyana through a "framework of economic cooperation" and the country's technological movement by means of tailored education.
President Ali lauded South Korea's development while noting its "highly-skilled and developed human asset".
The President also highlighted the drive of his Government in the areas of food, energy and climate security.
He told the Prime Minister that his Government would like to enhance government-to-government relations and the partnership between the private sectors of both countries.
