MINISTER TODD RECEIVES COURTESY CALL FROM AMBASSADOR- DESIGNATE OF THE PHILIPPINES

The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, today received a courtesy call from His Excellency Mario Fontanilla Chan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary-designate of the Republic of the Philippines to Guyana.

The two sides discussed efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations and enhance cooperation between Guyana and the Phillippines.

Minister Todd also informed the incoming Ambassador about Guyana’s inaugural Agri-Investment Forum and Expo, slated to be held from May 19th to 21st 2022. The forum and expo are aimed at culminating efforts towards reducing regional food imports by 25% by the year 2025, in addition to addressing other agriculture related matters.

Guyana and the Phillippines established diplomatic relations on August 25, 2008.
