NATIONAL DAY OF FASTING AND PRAYER

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, today joined in the observance of the National day of Fasting and Prayer.
Ambassador Elisabeth Harper, Permanent Secretary, Mr. Khemraj Singh, and Ms. Zamiroon Ali led the members of staff in prayers. Minister Todd took the opportunity to urge staff to use the day as one of reflection and mediation as we strive to achieve a “One Guyana” for all.
The National Day of Fasting and Prayer was announced by His Excellency President Ali, on April 4, 2022, in recognition of the simultaneous observation of fasting by Guyanese of the three main religious faiths.
